looking outward
I’m still in the process of catching up and getting back to full capacity of work. The stalling in my progress has certainly been frustrating to overcome, and I’m glad that I was able to return to my work.
I’ve since also been writing about my photography, and specifically writing about this project. The perspective of documenting the house as it changes, and the house as an allegory for change in my life and family, has been an interesting perspective for me to explore in narrative nonfiction. I found myself writing on how the house, when viewed from the outside, is the same as always. Black roof, white siding, evergreen in the front, mailbox obscured. But it is once you see into the windows that the changes are apparent.
And so, at Stephan’s suggestion, I played with the idea of looking out the windows instead.
