In November of 2020, I sat down with my grandmother to talk about our family’s history as French Canadian immigrants to Seacoast New Hampshire, their work in the mills of Dover, Rollinsford (Salmon Falls), and South Berwick, and how their French Canadian Roman Catholic faith influenced their experience.

In February of 2021, I returned to talking with family members about how our lineage and French Canadian ancestry has impacted our experiences today. As both my father, Matthew Cashman, and my grandmother, Carolyn Curran, are researching family lineage and genealogy, I spoke with both about the difficulties they have faced in the process.
